The Council of Single Mothers and their Children has been committed to improving the conditions of single mothers and their families for over 40 years.

Run by and for single mothers, our work is grounded in the experiences we hear from our members and callers. CSMC operates a Victoria wide telephone information, support and referral line, assisting women with a wide range of issues including housing, emergency relief, domestic violence, Centrelink, family law and child support.

Membership is free for single mothers, and our newsletter and email bulletins keep members up to date with current issues affecting single mothers.

CSMC has a long and successful history of advocating to improve the circumstances of single mothers, work we continue to this day through political advocacy, representation of single mother issues to government and community organisations, and involvement in research.
