Description

‘Cultivating Community’ is a not-for-profit organisation that has grown out of supporting community garden projects in inner-city public housing estates. It has evolved into an organisation promoting and supporting the development of food security and urban agriculture projects across the entire community.

Cultivating Community is currently working with 21 community garden projects across Melbourne’s public housing sector, 12 school kitchen gardens, 3 community fresh food markets and a number of other community food systems projects.
Our work is based around encouraging the development of sustainable agricultural food systems in urban areas and promoting the cultural richness of food, plants and people through community food projects.

Cultivating Community consists of a management committee, paid workers and volunteers.
