Eastern Suburbs Community Youth Association (trading as Bondi Youth Accommodation)

Description

Bondi Youth Accommodation is a Specialist Youth Homelessness Service, supporting young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk.

We have the capacity to house and support up to 24 young people at a time. Each young person is teamed with a Case Worker on entry to the service, and together they develop a plan for when, where and how often they will meet, and most importantly, what the young person would like to achieve in their time here, including the type of support they would like us to provide. Each young person is asked to identify their own personal goals and with the support of their Case Workers, set out a plan for their achievement.

We are currently developing a pilot project, called the Green Light Movement. The Green Light Movement (GLM) is a learn to drive program, that offers supervised driver training for homeless young people who live in medium –long term accommodation in the Eastern suburbs of Sydney. We will provide 10 hours with a professional driving instructor and then the young person will be linked with volunteer community mentors to supervise the remaining hours.
