Environment Victoria advocate on a number of environmental issues, including climate change, river health and sustainable water consumption, waste, transport and native vegetation.

Environment Victoria is the state’s leading environment group and our goal is to get “5 million people looking after our environment”. EV originated in 1969, born out of the landmark Little Desert campaign, and has been mobilising people to safeguard our environment ever since. EV champions the environment and the people who care about it; highlights growing environmental challenges and emerging solutions; and educates and engages people about what they can do to help.

Our environment is under greater threat than ever before. Each of us must act urgently to set a new future course: the future of our environment depends on all Victorians and the decisions we make today. That’s why we are asking all 5 million Victorians to be part of looking after our environment. The most urgent focus of our work for the next four years will be around creating:
• a safe climate;
• diverse and healthy ecosystems, with a spotlight on healthy rivers and wetlands; and
• communities living and consuming more sustainably.
