Greenfleet

Description

Greenfleet is an environmental charity that aims to reduce the impact of greenhouse gas emissions from Australian transport and energy use and improve our landscape by replanting native forests.

Climate change caused by the excessive burning of fossil fuels is one of the most pressing issues faced by mankind. Transport is the fastest growing source of global greenhouse gas emissions.

Greenfleet offers individual motorists an easy and cost-effective way to offset energy emissions. For $56.95 (tax-deductible) 17 native trees are planted on the motorist’s behalf. As they grow, these trees absorb greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to that the average car produces in one year (based on 4.3 tonnes CO2-e) storing carbon in the wood and releasing oxygen back into the atmosphere.

Since 1997, Greenfleet has planted more than six million native trees in permanent biodiverse forests across Australia to offset car, flight, home and office emissions.
