Jesuit Social Services

Description

Jesuit Social Services has its foundations dating back to 1977, when the Jesuit's under the guidance of Fr John Brosnan opened a small half-way house for young men after their release from juvenile justice centres and prisons.

We are a progressive, vibrant organisation with more than ninety employed members of staff, over 20 active volunteers and an exciting vision of community service and social action that is founded in Christian values.

We work in some of the most difficult and demanding areas of human service, including the areas of crime, addiction, mental illness, long-term unemployment and entrenched social disadvantage. We are also involved at the community level, public policy, research and advocacy, and with the media and politics.
