Palms Australia gives Australians an opportunity to open our hands to the world. Open hands represent being open to engagement with those of a culture different from one’s own. It represents being open to the vulnerability that is involved in working to reduce poverty.

Palms Australia responds to the requests of communities seeking to reduce material poverty. PALMS recruit, prepare, send and support volunteers to overseas or Australian communities looking to reduce poverty through knowledge and skill exchange. We respond to their requests so that the decisions about what will build the capacity of individuals and organisations in a community are owned by the community.
