Description

R.I.S.E (Refugees, Survivors and Ex-Detainees) is a not-for-profit incorporated association. R.I.S.E is an unique organisation which is governed by refugees/asylum seeker and Ex-detainees. R.I.S.E exists to enable refugees to build new lives by providing advice, engaging in community development, enhancing opportunity, and campaigning for refugee rights.

R.I.S.E advocates on its members’ behalf to improve government refugee policies and to generate positive social change in respect to attitudes impacting refugees. Furthermore R.I.S.E settlement service coupled with our music and arts projects seek to address the various barriers to successful settlement and empower refugee communities to be active participants in wider society.

R.I.S.E creates innovative and tailored projects to address the various barriers faced by refugee. All our services are informed by the knowledge, experiences and expertise we bring as refugees, and are constructed after extensive community engagement and due diligence.

What makes R.I.S.E unique and successful is that our projects are informed by the knowledge, experiences and expertise we bring as refugees. Many of our workers experienced the difficulties of settling in Australia and have in-depth knowledge of the political, legal, social, and community welfare system in Australia.
