Sail and Adventure Ltd is restoring the Alma Doepel at Docklands, to be used as sail training ship for youth development and disadvantaged youth.There is also an intention to link her activities into maritime research for secondary and tertiary students.The Alma Doepel was built in 1903 and has seen many changes of role.We believe she is the last sailing ship of her type in Australia capable of being restored and as such is a critical part of our heritage. All programmes will be run on a 'not for profit' basis. None of the directors or office holders receive any remuneration for their work.
