Skilled Migrant Mentoring Program - City East Community College
Description
People with overseas qualifications often face obstacles when looking for work in their profession here in Australia, particularly when English is their second language, they have no local experience and networks. They need to become familiar with the workings of the labour market and learn about local workplace culture and practice. We are seeking mentors – people with expertise in a particular field who are prepared to offer time to advise and support someone with overseas qualifications. This is not a big time committment but will make a big difference in enabling a newcomer to Australia to resume their career.
This program is proudly funded by the NSW Adult Migrant English Service (AMES), NSW Department of Education and Training and delivered in partnership with Adult and Community Education.
If you can help an overseas professional gain invaluable local industry knowledge by offering one-to-one mentoring please apply.
