Special Olympics NSW

Description

Special Olympics is a not-for-profit organisation that transforms the lives of people with an intellectual disability through regular sports participation and competition.
Unlike the Olympics or Paralympics our program operates all year round and we welcome all levels of athletes beginners right up to the elite. Special Olympics brings joy, pride, fun and friendship to people with an intellectual disability while at the same time improving their health and well being. We rely almost entirely on volunteers who work tirelessly to deliver the program to our athletes.
In NSW, there are seventeen regional programs offering over 140 weekly sports sessions in a variety of team and individual sports to approximately 1500 athletes.
