The Lupus Association of NSW Inc
Description
The Lupus Association began in August 1979 when it was called the 'Lupus Club'. it was founded by Colleen Hook, a woman who was living with Lupus. The Association has grown since its humble beginnings to now having a membership base of 1300. We have 2 part-time staff (an executive officer and an admin officer) and a Management Committee who are responsible for governance and overall direction of the organisation. We also rely on an army of volunteers. Our mission is to provide counselling support and up-to-date information about Lupus and related disorders to people living with the disease and their friends and families, to raise community awareness and understanding of the disease and to facilitate research into better treatments and a cure.Website
