FAQ for New Groups

Question: Does it cost anything to register?

Answer :
No. It is free to register as a goodcompany community group. You just need to have Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status and volunteers insurance.

Question: I think I am registered but I can't seem to submit volunteer projects?

Answer: If you haven't completed all three stages of the registration process, you won't be able to submit volunteer projects yet (three stages outlined below). If you are unsure about what stage you are up to, please contact goodcompany and we will assist you to complete your registration.

Question: I am new to goodcompany, how do I register as a community group?

Answer: Registration involves 3 stages.

Stage 1: Click here and create yourself a username and account.
Stage 2: Complete an application form.
After you have completed stage 1, we will email you a link to a detailed application form.
Stage 3: Training Workshop.
You will then be invited to attend a special training workshop to show you exactly how you can best utilise our services.

After you have completed all of these stages, goodcompany will approve your registration, activate your account and you are free to submit your volunteer projects for skilled volunteers at any time.

FAQ for Exisiting Groups

Question: Can other people from my organisation submit volunteer projects?

Answer: Yes. We can set up several user accounts for your organisation. Just login and respond to the prompt to "Add new user". Alternatively you can just contact goodcompany via phone or email with the name and email addresses of these people and we will add them to your existing goodcompany account.

Question: I think my organisation is already registered with goodcompany, but I am new and I don't know how to use your service.

Answer: We recommend you come along to one of our volunteer project writing workshops. We will place an announcement in the relevant edition of goodnews for scheduled workshops. Closer to the date of each workshop you can also visit our Events page for more information.

Question: Can you give me some tips on writing good volunteer projects?

Answer: Yes.
Click here to read our tips page.

Question: Do the volunteer projects have an expiry date?

Answer: Yes
We encourage you to let us know if your volunteer project has past its deadline and we will close it (see below). Every couple of months goodcompany conducts an audit of all volunteer projects on the site and closes any volunteer projects that are past their deadline or are very old. In the near future, volunteer projects will be automatically taken off the site after a period of time.

Question: Can I delete a volunteer project from the site?

Answer: Yes.
You can delete an open volunteer project by emailing mail@goodcompany.com.au with the title of the volunteer project in the subject and we will close the volunteer project.
