Well-motivated and engaged staff that enjoy what they do is critical to an organisation like Stride. When Stride was interested in gaining insight into staff engagement, satisfaction levels and confidence in the leadership of the organisation through a staff survey, they posted an add on the goodcompany website and found volunteer Joanne Fitzgerald. “Joanne is a very experienced organisational psychologist and works with a wide range of corporates throughout Australia” say Jane Hill, Chief Executive of the Stride Foundation.

New survey helps Huntington’s WA plan for the future
When Huntington’s WA decided to update their “uninspiring” annual survey, they sought professional assistance and teamed up with the Bankwest Insight team, led and coordinated by Simon Edwards. Simon said “it was great to be involved with people who work in a sector where profit is not the driver activity and to experience the challenges faced by the social services sector. Instead, they are driven by a need to care and provide support for those who are suffering."

Design whizz well on his way
When Child Wise needed a graphic designer to help them design various upcoming projects, they posted an ad on the goodcompany site, and were lucky enough to be contacted by Denny Gunawan, a Swinburne Multimedia graduate who was looking for some practical work experience by volunteering his skills to a community organisation.
Financial Experience Supports WA Fellowship of Australian Writers to a Sustainable Future
The Fellowship of Australian Writers WA (FAWWA) is a non-profit organisation established in 1938 to “promote the study and practice of literature in Australia”, says Patricia Johnson from FAWWA. Volunteering from individuals such as Warren Jennings is crucially important. His assistance has been invaluable, says Patricia, whose “work has had a positive effect on the Fellowship, improving its performance and record-keeping financially”.

One of the biggest events on the Spina Bifida Foundation’s calendar is its ‘Night of Celebrations’, which is held yearly every November. It “celebrates the accomplishments of members over the past 12 months". It’s an event where all staff, the Board and members are fully involved and, as such, it’s necessary to have volunteers external to the Spina Bifida Foundation to assist. This year enthusiastic photogrpaher Justin Marshall volunteered his time for the event.

Bankwest employee speaks for Youth Futures WA
Youth Futures WA is one of the largest providers of education and training services to youth at risk in the north Perth area. They recently undertook a skilled volunteering project with Bankwest employee Adrian Cowman to deliver three workshops at COMET, an alternative education program for year 10 and 11 students.

How An Online Financial Tool Aims to Educate the Disadvantaged
