ANZ Employee creates an eye catching logo for TaskForce

Since 1973 TaskForce Community Agency has provided specialist support for people across Melbourne that have experienced significant disadvantage or a crisis and as a result they are prevented from reaching their potential. TaskForce services support youth, adults and families that have a range of complex needs, or a single need with a high level of severity.

TaskForce were looking for a graphic designer to create an eye catching and fun logo. The logo was to become a label on homemade jam that was produced as part of a program for Women offenders that are learning positive live skills including healthy eating, cooking, and business skills.

Through the ANZ goodcompany skilled volunteer program, Taskforce were put in touch with Dinesh Pasupathyrajan, a Project Coordinator in the Technology Group Function. Dinesh pursues graphic design as a hobby and wanted to volunteer his skills. He saw it as a chance to give back to the community and get some work/life balance.

Graphic design is a hobby for me. Being able to offer my graphic design skills has energized me as it is different from my work.”

It gave me an understanding of not for profit organisations and the challenges they face and how vital skilled volunteering can be to them.”

Elizabeth Brande, TaskForce’s Fundraising and Program Manager, chose to give Dinesh full design control over the project. She shared with him the program and asked him to create a couple of concepts. “He came up with half a dozen and the one we chose is really powerful. We are ecstatic with it. We now have some absolutely professional labels that we are printing to go on the jam that will be sold at Farmers markets”.

“Without Dinesh and people like him at ANZ we would not be able to service our clients as well as we do. It takes enormous pressure off us to have skilled volunteers come in and do the work that we couldn’t afford otherwise.”

Dinesh has also been working with Greenfleet and feels inspired to continue volunteering in the future. “It’s a great opportunity to have a channel to help the community and there are few opportunities out there that I would find out about without ANZ’s program and goodcompany”.
