Extended Families is a non profit organization that has been bringing the gift of friendship to children with disabilities for more than 30 years.

The organization matches friendly volunteers with these children, so that together they can have a fun and active social life.

Having already had great experiences with goodcompany, Marketing and Recruitment Manager Bernadette Kelly posted a job listing for a graphic designer to design their annual report because they didn’t have the resources to employ a professional.

Lance Quest eagerly came on board to help out with the project, and was an “incredible help to the organization,” Bernadette said.

“Having Lance come on board as a graphic designer to do our annual report was fantastic because it meant that we didn’t have to put extra funding that we couldn’t afford into having the annual report designed in a professional way.”

Bernadette was full of praise for Lance, who originally signed up for a short-term project, but ended up working with them for 8 months!

It’s heartwarming to see the positive impact that this collaboration had on the community group, and as Bernadette said, “it’s really morale boosting for everyone”.

And here’s a note to all prospective volunteers out there - “the sense of goodwill that comes with people volunteering to help out organizations like us is really important.”
