Volunteer Profile: Patrick Acheampong
Profile: Patrick Acheampong

My occupation: Business Process Improvement Consultant
My responsibilities: Analysing business processes and systems, then creating strategies to improve them
What inspired me to get involved in skilled volunteering: I wanted to be able to use my skills to help organisations, and give something back towards community organisations besides money.
Which organisations have I fulfilled volunteer projects for: RSPCA in NSW
A bit about the volunteer projects I fulfilled, what I achieved and their outcomes: The RSPCA wanted someone to suggest ways in which they could improve their call centre operations, and improve customer service. I created a strategy with suggestions to help them achieve their goals.
What the community group gained: Hopefully some good ideas on how to improve their call centre operations.
What I got out of volunteering my time and skills: A sense of satisfaction that I was able to contribute something. Hopefully I’ll have the opportunity to help another group in the future.
Tips for Community Groups and volunteers working together: I think it’s important to listen to each other, and be flexible because it makes it easier to work together and to come to a mutually agreeable solution to the community groups challenges.
