1. Profile:
Campbell Imray
2. My occupation:
Website designer
3. My responsibilities:
Helping people to achieve things online
4. What inspired me to get involved in skilled volunteering:
I think everyone should volunteer. It’s a great way to help people and organisations that don’t have the luxury of big marketing budgets and a great way to help them have a voice and make a difference.
5. Which organisation have I fulfill volunteer project for:
North Melbourne Legal Service
6. A bit about the volunteer project I have fulfilled, what I achieved and their outcomes:
I created a new website for NMLS, that allows them to make changes to the website whenever they want. The new design provided a much nicer visual representation of NMLS, better performance in Google rankings and a view on how people use their website. Most importantly the user experience is much improved meaning that people who are looking for help from the service can understand the services available to them much more easily.
7. What the community group gained:
The website better represents NMLS’s community values and makes information about NMLS more readily available – meeting a key criteria for community accessibility.
8. What I got out of volunteering my time and skills:
I’m just happy to help and appreciative of the great work organisations like NMLS do every day. Hopefully it leads to some more not-for-profit work.
9. Tips for Community Groups and volunteers working together:
Get into volunteering, it’s a hugely rewarding way to do your bit in the community and help give these sorts of organisations, doing great work, a helping hand and voice.
