The AIDS Trust of Australia is the only national body raising and dispersing funds for HIV/AIDS research, education, care and support provided by community based organisations.

The Trust does not receive nor seek government funding, preferring to rely on corporate sponsorship, quality events and the generosity of individuals for its income.

Our Vision

An Australia where the transmission of HIV has been eliminated, and where the rights of those already affected are protected and their special needs met.

Our Mission

To enhance Australia's response to HIV/AIDS.

We achieve this through raising funds and disbursing them to community based organisations that provide education, care, support and research in a way that fulfils the trust placed in us those living with HIV/AIDS and by donors and supporters.

Our History

The Trust was established in 1987 by the then Governor-General and continues to enjoy Vice Regal patronage.

A Board of Governors administers the Deed of Trust through National AIDS Fundraising Limited, a not for profit company.

To do this, the Governors rely on a small team of staff and a corps of volunteers.
