CAN (Mental Health) Inc. is a consumer run, not for profit charity - run by people with mental illness for people living with mental illness.As one of the first consumer operated services in Australia, CAN manages & runs Pitane Recovery Centre, and provides a range of peer support and recovery activities for people living with mental illness.
Our organisation is very keen and eager to develop a financially sustainable organisation and we have big dreams, large enthusiasm, and would like to encourage an individual or group of individuals to walk with us on our journeys to become increasingly financially independent.
Our organisation has an established fundraising committee, planning and hosting a range of events, who meet on a regular basis i.e. weekly/fortnightly/monthly - depending on the activity being planned.
Current fundraising activities include hosting:
NSW Mental Health Consumer of the Year Awards (18th Sept. 2008).
Promoting Mental Health Wellbeing Makes Perfect Business Sense - 2 Day Conference (14th & 15th Oct., 2008).
We would like to encourage the support of a volunteer/s to:
Successfully host both these events.
Develop a Fundraising Events Calendar (1-3 years).
Support with the development & hosting of innovative fundraising events for mental health consumers, community organisations and the general community.
Help us to put mental health wellbeing firmly into people's hearts and minds.
CAN (Mental Health) Inc. is a registered Charity with the NSW Office of Charities; holds all releant insurances; has available office resources.
Join with us and walk some of our journey together to make a difference to the lives of people living with mental illness, promote positive mental health messages to the general community.
