Description

Earthdance Assn Inc is the Australian representative of Earthdance Global, a cultural organisation which has been operating since 1996. Earthdance's goal is to promote peace at the global and local scale, through the universal language of music and art. The signature activity of Earthdance is the holding of a music festival on UN World Peace Day each year. Each event is required to stage a Prayer for Peace, where at midnight GMT, every event plays a particular track promoting peace on earth, peace in our communities and peace with ourselves. Earthdance Assn Inc holds free community festivals in Sydney and Melbourne. The Melbourne event has been taking place since 1998, and is now held at Federation Square in the heart of Melbourne. The Sydney event is supported by Clover Moore, Lord Mayor City of Sydney, and is at Sydney Park St Peters.
