Special Olympics provide year round sports training and competition for people with an intellectual disability in ten Olympic-type sports.

People with an intellectual disability gain confidence and self esteem through increasing their physical fitness and participating in sport.

For them, Special Olympics provides 'a place to belong and a place where they can make friends and learn life skills.
