The Student Youth Network Inc. (SYN) is the largest youth-media organisation in Australia. SYN currently operates a full-time Melbourne-wide community radio station (90.7 FM), produces 7.5 hours a week of live television (broadcast on Channel 31 Melbourne & Brisbane), and broadcasts a range of podcasts and other material on syn.org.au. We truly believe that young people should be "creators and not consumers" of media. All our producers, presenters, content creators and volunteers are under the age of 26.

SYN provides access to young voices which are excluded by the mainstream media, providing airtime to indigenous, physically impaired, youth-at-risk, youth from non-English speaking backgrounds, women, gay and lesbian youth, and other marginalised groups. Over 2,000 young Victorians participate in SYN each year.

SYN is powered by the super-charged energy of one of the largest and youngest volunteer bases in Australia. Almost half of our volunteer base is too young to vote, gamble or drive. Unfortunately, though, while our volunteer base is energetic, they lack extensive business experience and are definitely not rich! We need your help to continue doing what we do best – engaging the Melbourne youth community and making innovative media.
