Description

The Lupus Association began in August 1979 when it was called the 'Lupus Club'. The founder was a lady who lived with lupus called Colleen Hook. The Association has grown since its humble beginnings to now having a membership base of 1100. Run by a management committee who are all voluntary. We have 2 part time staff and an army of volunteers. Our mission is to provide counselling support and up-to-date information about Lupus and related disorders to our members, to raise community awareness and understanding of the disease and to raise funds to help find a cure.
