Volunteering Victoria is the state peak body for volunteering.

We are a not-for-profit organisation promoting volunteering and leading and supporting the volunteer sector within the state since 1973.

We serve individual volunteers, volunteer managers, volunteer-involving organisations, volunteer support networks and the community at large through our activities, the programs we initiate, the services we offer and the advice we provide.

We bring together volunteers, not-for-profit organisations, business and the State Government in order to achieve our goal of strengthening communities all over Victoria.

We focus our efforts on ensuring the sustainability of volunteering for the long-term by building the capacity of volunteer-involving organisations and communities as they recruit, train and manage volunteers.

Our core activities and services include:
- Providing skills education and training for volunteer managers and supervisors through flexible modes of delivery such as seminars, workshops and online, for example ‘Everyone Ready’, a 12-month online training program for volunteer managers and supervisors;
- Advising our over 700 Registered and Financial Members and other volunteer-involving organisations on best practice in policy development through a consultancy service;
- Undertaking government and private sector advocacy to ensure decision makers are well informed about the issues in the volunteer sector;
- Promoting volunteering to the wider Victorian community by engaging with members of the media and networking beyond the not-for-profit and volunteering sector;
- Communicating regularly with our members and contacts through eNewsletters, the Volunteering Victoria website, e-bulletins, dialogue at meetings, gatherings and other events;
- Working for recognition by the community, the government and business sectors concerning the importance of highly-skilled and experienced volunteer managers and the professional needs and issues they face in managing volunteer programs within not-for-profit organisations and communities;
- Providing a forum for raising issues relevant to volunteering;
- Representing the Victorian volunteering sector in national and international forums.
Volunteering Victoria has a Board of Management with members who serve in a voluntary capacity and this leadership group is currently composed of individuals from the volunteering and not-for-profit sectors and beyond. The organisation is headed by Chief Executive Dianne Embry, Gail Cumming is the Program Manager and Elouise Holmes is the Communications Manager.
