WWF-Australia

Description

With more than 40 years experience at an international level, and more than 25 years of operation in Australia, WWF is the world's largest and most influential independent conservation organisation.

It has close to five million supporters and an International global network active more than 100 countries.

Our mission is to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature, by:

• conserving the world’s biological diversity;
• ensuring that the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable; and
• promoting the reduction of pollution and wasteful consumption.

Australia is one of the most unique countries in the world. Nowhere else on Earth can you find an environment as diverse, with ecosystems like the Great Barrier Reef, the pristine rainforests of Tasmania, the incredible wetlands of Kakadu and our vast deserts.

WWF- Australia is working to conserve the nation's amazing biodiversity, providing practical solutions to our greatest environmental threats. Our teams work on the ground with local communities, and in partnership with government and industry, advocating change and effective conservation policy.

We take a science-based approach to our conservation work and are committed to real, measurable outcomes for the environment which directly benefit Australian species and natural resources like water, land and the marine environment.

With close to 60,000 supporters, and active projects in Australia and the Oceania region, WWF works to conserve Australia’s plants and animals by ending land clearing, addressing climate change, and preserving and protecting our fresh water, marine and land environments.
