Finding Inspiration In A Snap

Susan Gordon-Brown is a professional photographer with her own business - Red Five Studios. On a recent goodcompany inspired photographic assignment at the Leukaemia Foundation's ‘World’s Greatest Shave for a Cure’, Susan found herself just moments away from shaving her head. In the end, she held off until next year so that she can secure lots of sponsorship!

In describing her experience of the event Susan said, “It was great, a long day and tiring, but very inspiring. (It was) wonderful to see all the people there, raising money, donating time, shaving off their hair which is a huge deal, all because they want to help out”.

As a freelance photographer, Susan was more than willing to donate her time and skills to charity groups, but her work commitments often made it difficult.

“I find it hard to commit to a set time each week to do charity work, as I need to be available if work comes up. So fulfilling wishes through goodcompany is ideal as they are often one off events”.

She has also found a way to combine her interests and professional photography skills through goodcompany, most recently taking photographs for Greenfleet at a planting day outside Bendigo.

“Lately I have been studying about the environment and doing more environmental photography, so I looked for wishes in this area, which is why I contacted Greenfleet and also Trust for Nature. I thought if I could help out and learn more in an area I am interested it would be good for both of us”.
