$50 000 offered at goodcompany event

Find Your Perfect Match event returned to Melbourne last week where an estimated $50 000 worth of pro bono services were offered in just over an hour.

MC's Tony Wilson (Triple R) and Emma Race (Channel 31) joined almost 100 volunteers and community groups to participate in a night of match up activities, community group 'speed dating' and lots of networking.

First up was Jeanette Large (left) from Victorian Women's Housing Assocation who spoke of the many volunteers she matched up with at the last goodcompany event, including Judie Kay, Associate Director, Swinburne University (pictured right).

"It is hard to place a dollar figure on this work – our volunteer recruits are priceless! We have some fantastic cost modeling, a marketing strategy almost finalized, and 3 new board members [including Judie] who are proving invaluable".

The combined volunteer work is valued at over $50 000 for the VWHA.

Six community groups were then invited to tell their stories to a room full of volunteers.

They were:Unity Foundation, Dolphin Research
Institute, Extended Familied Australia, Reproductive Choice Australia, Christina Noble Children's Foundation and The Abbotsford Convent.

Afterwards groups were inundated with inspired attendees wanting to learn more about how they could help.

Find Your Perfect Match returns to Sydney on 26 July.
