$600,000 Goes Back to the Community

Good deeds to the value of over $600,000 were traded last week, at the third annual Australian Wish Exchange.

Over thirty Community Groups presented wishes at the event to more than 200 enthusiastic attendees, and the kindness and skills pledged exceeded last year's event by over $100 000. An excellent result!

With Sydney Morning Herald's accomplished business journalist Janine Perrett as MC, it was a night full of fun and interaction, free food and drinks, and positive wish outcomes.

goodcompany would like to thank all the participants from this year's event for making it such a special night.

Successful wishes ranged from PR/Media/Communications projects, to Events Management, Database Development and Website Design, Publishing and Editing, Leadership and Training roles, Accounting and Legal roles, even Mystery Shoppers!

According to goodcompany’s CEO Paul Brock, goodcompany's social events like the Australian Wish Exchange make it easy for time-poor professionals, keen to get involved with the community, to put their skills to good use. “The Australian Wish Exchange is such a unique and successful event because it enables professionals and community groups to engage face-to-face in a social environment and allows professionals to hear first hand the difference their expertise can make” Paul explains.

Clare Porta, an investment analyst with Trent Capital, attended the Wish Exchange event and offered her services to three different organisations, one of which is Redkite, an organisation that supports children and their families through cancer. Clare said "[I] loved the event, its postive vibe and the chance to connect with community organisations like Redkite". She is excited to be part of Redkite's Music-a-thon, one of the organisations longest running and most successful fundraising events that takes place in primary schools across Australia each May.

Thanks again to all those who participated. We are currently activating your wishes in the system and will notify you when the process is complete. A follow up call will be made to you in the coming fortnight to check the progress of your wishes.
