Design helps communicate mission to reduce emissions
Climate change caused by the excessive burning of fossil fuels is one of the major problems mankind faces today. Greenfleet aims to reduce the impact of these emissions in Australia by offering individual motorists an easy and cost-effective way to offset them. For a tax-deductible donation, Greenfleet plants native trees on behalf of the motorist. As they grow, these trees will absorb the greenhouse gas emissions produced by the average car in one year, storing carbon in the wood and releasing oxygen back into the atmosphere.
Greenfleet are often out and about at tree plantings and promoting their organisation at public events. The first one for this year was the Sustainable Living Festival in February. The group wanted a t-shirt designed that would make them easily identifiable, communicate what they do, and look good in photos.
Goodcompany volunteer, graphic designer Lauren Hearn took up the challenge and produced an eye-catching funky t-shirt that Greenfleet loved.
Greenfleet spokesperson, Virginia Simpson was very happy with the end result, “Lauren followed our brief to the letter. The printer commented on the strong design which showed great understanding of the screen-printing process”.
She added, “This t-shirt has enabled us to present ourselves as a professional organisation when we are out in public.”
