Empowered by using her professional skills for good

Where do you go when the unthinkable happens? Cancer. Grief. Depression. The Petrea King Quest for Life Centre is a safe place for people to go when faced with life’s greatest challenges.

Earlier this year, Lynora Brooke, owner/founder of Redefinity, answered Petrea King Quest for Life Centre’s request for a Risk Analysis & Mitigation Facilitator.

"This really appealed to me because I could see an opportunity to use my professional skills to help an organisation I really believed in and to whose programmes I had referred a number of people over the years".

After meeting with Quest's General Manager, Lynora found herself in pictuersque Bundanoon for the day to facilitate a risk analysis and mitigation session. As a result of the session, Quest for Life has identified the numerous risks they have as a charitable organisation and have begun the process of mitigating those risks. Lynora has since been invited back to facilitate a strategic planning day with the Board.

Kate vanderVoort, Business Development Manager was thrilled with Lynora’s work:

"It was completed in the time frame (which was quite tight) and delivered outcomes far greater than expected.”

Kate also explained that this "demonstrated once again the wonderful impact that skilled professionals can bring to the organisation and help us build our capacity in ways we would otherwise be unable to do."

Lynora felt empowered volunteering her professional skills through Good Company. She is also thankful for the opportunity to form an ongoing relationship with a "fantastic organisation such as the Quest for Life Centre".
