Did you know that Arthritis is Australia's major cause of disability and chronic pain and that there are over 120 different types of arthritis? Arthritis Victoria strives to improve the quality of life of people in Victoria with arthritis and musculoskeletal related conditions.

Earlier this year, Arthritis Victoria needed an eyecatching poster to promote their Joint Walks program during Arthritis Awareness Week (1-7 April) that aimed to encourage people to be and stay active. The poster would promote walking event to the general public, and encourage them to participate.

Ross Doonan, a regular goodcompany volunteer and Director of Soulshine a youth-oriented music website, snapped up the wish from the goodcompany website.

Ross found the whole experience very fulfilling, “I find it fantastic that volunteers can come together to help out organisations that could not afford this level of expertise otherwise…This wish gives them the expertise … without the cost.”

Sarah Quick spokesperson for Arthritis Victoria also enjoyed working on the project:

”Ross was very responsive to the design brief I prepared. He produced an excellent and highly professional proposal, with a range of alternative designs. Ross was happy to accept any changes I suggested, and worked with me to ensure the poster we produced was what the organisation wanted”

Ross and Sarah are keen to work with each again. Ross adding that, "It's a great piece for my portfolio but most of all makes me feel good”
