goodcompany honoured as Champions of the Community

goodcompany founder Kate Kennedy and board member and former chair Tony Macvean have been honoured as shining examples of community action in Melbourne with their selection to appear on the cover of the 2007/08 'Champions of our Community' Melbourne Business/Government directory cover.

Sensis chose the 'Champions of our Community' theme to recognise outstanding Australians who champion causes for the benefit of their communities and selected the cover profiles based on nominations from the community.

"It is an honour to be nominated by the community as a Champion of the Community. We hope that this cover helps inspire more Melbournians to offer their professional services to the community sector," said Tony Macvean, also a Partner of Hall & Wilcox Lawyers, recently named ALB Melbourne Law Firm of the Year.

According to Group Manager, White Pages®, Melissa Reynolds "There are some really amazing people in our country making invaluable contributions to their local areas. Local people such as Kate and Tony are inspiring examples of the positive affect people can have on their wider region."

Kate and Tony have joined a long line of high-profile, community minded Australians replacing last year’s Melbourne Business Government directory cover feature with Reach co-founder Jim Stynes and Reach facilitators.

"We really appreciate the opportunity to step forward and represent such a progressive and caring community that draws life and inspiration from its heritage, the land and its generous people," said Kate Kennedy.

The directory commenced distribution within the Melbourne directory region on Saturday 19 May 2007 and is being used by more than 1.2 million residents a month.
