HR help keeps charity admin costs below 10 per cent
A goodcompany volunteer has helped children right’s agency The Christina Noble Children’s Foundation (CNCF) deliver more care direct to those in need.
With more than 14 years experience Helen Pothoulackis Blunden agreed to fulfil the wish for a "HR savvy" person to conduct further volunteer recruitment for CNCF – which helps children at risk of economic and sexual exploitation.
CNCF spokesperson Kirrily Graham said using a goodcompany volunteer to develop the organisation's volunteer support program had helped keep administration costs under 10 per cent.
"It was in line with our philosophy of keeping administration under 10 per cent and ensuring that we make every cent count, and be received by those most in need," she said. "And Helen has more than filled our expectations."
Ms Pothoulackis Blunden said she was moved to help when she discovered CNCF through goodcompany.
"It was hard not to be emotional when reading and listening to Christina's story and this made my volunteer work all the more important. I was doing something back for the community – something you don’t feel everyday when working in profit driven corporate organisation."
Helen enjoyed the experience so much she has taken on the new role of Newsletter Editor for the Foundation.
