New website gives a big boost to African welfare agency

African Relief & Welfare Agency (ARWA) is a non-political and non-profit aid
organisation that aims to provide direct relief of poverty and humanitarian and development work across Africa. It is directly responsible for the design and implementation of projects which restore hope into communities through partnerships of choice.

ARWA needed to have its website redeveloped to make it more user friendly and also easier to update. Goodcompany volunteer Martin Walker, founder of stillmovingdesign, a creative design consultancy, stepped in to help. At their first meeting ARWA’s CEO Jeff Mitshabu told Martin that the main aims of the site were fund-raising and generating awareness about ARWA.

The old site was slow, difficult to read and, most worrying of all, not easy to update. Martin developed an efficient fully functioning website in about two weeks. He found it to be a very satisfying project. Now ARWA can update their own website without help from anyone else.

Jeff Mitshabu is very happy with the result and it has given the organisation a real boost in profile and professionalism, “Martin has done an excellent job done with the design and re-development of our website. Many thanks for your generosity.”

Martin enjoyed the experience so much that is now volunteering for another goodcompany group, Rosemount Good Shepherd Youth & Family Services Inc.
