Corporate Team Volunteer Days - open to hosting teams up to 20 people

At Children First Foundation we facilitate life-changing, sometimes life-saving, surgery in Australia for children from developing countries. The children we support are unable to access the medical procedures, resources and care that they require in their own countries. Without our intervention their conditions would go untreated resulting in major impacts on their health, well-being and ability to fulfil their potential.

Pre and post surgery the children are cared for at our Miracle sMiles Retreat at Kilmore, just one hour outside of Melbourne. This offers a healing supportive environment as they prepare for and recover from life-changing surgery. We warmly welcome volunteers at our Miracle sMiles Retreat.

Our Corporate volunteer groups undertake various tasks, ranging from pre-arranged projects by groups of skilled volunteers to general jobs around the house and property. These general tasks include:
  • Basic gardening
  • Painting
  • Sorting and tidying linen cupboards
  • Sorting the donated clothing into age/season/gender
  • Washing windows
  • Sorting and tidying the book shelves.
We ask that you have a minimum of 6 in your group to ensure the best experience for all in your group.

A maximum number of 15 is ideal but we have accommodated groups of up to 20 so please let us know in advance to enable us to plan tasks and catering.
  • at around 9.30am is ideal.  If your group is undertaking a pre-arranged project arrival time may be earlier.
  • Departure time is flexible, depending on your group but it normally around 3.00pm
We provide lunch for a small charge per head. This works well for us we need to prepare lunch for the children. We can cater for most dietary requirements.

Children First receives no government funding and relies on donations and corporate support.

We do not charge a fee for Corporate Volunteer groups but all donations are gratefully received. We do ask that you include us as a preferred charity in any workplace giving scheme you may have at your workplace.
Points to note
You do not need a WWC check as these volunteer roles are not directly working with the children. We need support with maintenance and other general tasks. There may be some time to play with/hang out with the kids but this will not be the main task.
