Conservation Volunteering - Adelaide and wider region.

Volunteer with us in Adelaide as we’d love to involve your teams in our Urban Habitat Program taking place in parks and reserves across the Adelaide metropolitan area or helping monitor the State’s fauna emblem – the Southern Hairy-Nosed Wombat at Brookfield Conservation Park.

The day typically runs from around 9:00am to 4:00pm with morning, afternoon and lunch breaks, however we can tailor an itinerary to suit your individual needs e.g. Develop a half-day activity.

We run these throughout the year and numbers can vary from 10 up to large group sizes (please ensure you let us know your group size on your application and then we can discuss appropriate locations).

Please be advised that due to the nature of this volunteering, EVERY volunteer team member will be required to complete their "Personal Details" online. Once you have confirmed your booking, you will be asked to complete this detail on the CVA website.

On your day Conservation Volunteers provides:
  • A Conservation Volunteers Team Leader to work with you and provide a comprehensive introduction to the project and explanation of its significance and purpose so you get the advantage of understanding the importance of the work you are doing.
  • All insurances and management of the project risk assessment including a complete OH&S briefing. Our CVA Team Leaders are fully trained and qualified first aid officers and we’ll provide first aid equipment onsite.
  • We provide all the tools and specialised equipment; Personal Protection Equipment including sturdy gloves and safety vests. All volunteers are asked to wear a long sleeve shirt, trousers, boots/fully enclosed shoes, a wide brimmed hat and sunglasses.
  • You can bring their own morning tea and lunch or you may wish to provide catering for your team. We also provide a report of the day and photos of volunteers in action.
Of course to make all this happen involves lots of resources, to deliver our specialised corporate employee engagement days we ask consideration of the following options;
  • Make a contribution to help us cover our operating costs for facilitating your tailored volunteering activity. The contribution we seek is $2,000 for a team of up to 10 people, inclusive of transport. Teams greater than 10 can also be catered at $150 p/person.
  • Enter into a partnership with us. Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partners address priority environmental issues of their choice, engage local communities in the solutions and provide opportunities for their staff to contribute to the success of the partnership through volunteering and workplace giving. We have a number of regional and national priority programs to support. Please partner with us!
Why volunteer?
Conservation Volunteers’ employee engagement programs are a great way to;
  • Help protect our environment, conserve important habitat for threatened species and reduce impacts of climate change.
  • Engage staff in team building and encourage group co-operation.
  • Increase staff morale and support personal and skill development.
  • Independent studies show that meaningful demonstrated corporate volunteering will not only increase participation but will also lead to employee engagement in general, including commitment and retention!
