Online researching - Review Grant Applications
We are looking for a volunteer to assist with the review of research grant applications, helping us ensure {please complete}.
Grant applications can be reviewed from home or a professional environment and is at the volunteer's own discretion within deadlines. It should take approximately 5 hours to review all applications for one grant scheme and we anticipate you will review 2-3 grant schemes per year.

What’s involved?
- Impartially assess research grant applications against set criteria and complete assessment forms
- Attend meetings of the relevant Committee; be prepared to listen to others and share your opinions of the projects under review
- In some cases, participate on the interview panels of short-listed candidates
- You will need to attend a training session on XXXXXXXXX. There is no obligation to continue with this role after this training session
- Communications skills- effective communication skills are a key attribute for participation; listening and sharing opinions are essential elements in reviewing grant applications
- Providing an impartial community perspective – community representatives have an essential role in ensuring a community perspective including recognition of the diversity of perspectives, biases and/or limitations of their own personal experiences
- Confidentiality and privacy – the highest regard for principles and legislation surrounding confidentiality and privacy
- Technology – access to suitable technology for the receipt and sending of confidential documents and for general communication
- Be independent of the research institutions and universities that we fund
- Not be actively engaged in related research (except in the capacity of a consumer or community representative or as a participant in research)
