Join the Red Nose Day Telethon Team! (Virtual Role)

Red Nose is aiming to raise $500,000 this Red Nose Day to help save little lives through research and education for new parents, and vital support services for grief-stricken families following the devastating death of a baby or child during regnancy and early childhood.

With social distancing guidelines and community
restrictions in place across the country, this year we will
host a virtual telethon so our volunteers and supporters
can still get involved in Red Nose Day from the comfort of
their own homes or offices.

On Friday 14 August, volunteers will pick up their
phones all across the country to make calls to Red
Nose supporters. The virtual project will be run by our
fundraising partner, Mycause.

A virtual call-centre means you can login from
anywhere, provided you have access to:
• A mobile phone
• A computer, laptop or tablet
• An internet connection

All call charges will be automatically charged to Red Nose,
so you won’t be out of pocket.

You can choose from one of the following shifts (these
can be altered for groups/teams wanting to take part):
• Shift 1 (9:00am – 12:00pm)
• Shift 2 (12:00pm – 3:00pm)
• Shift 3 (3:00pm – 6:00pm)

How will it work?
• Indicate which shift you would like to sign up for
(friends, family or colleagues volunteering in groups
can all work on the same shift!)

• On Friday 14 August, a 30-minute introduction
session will be hosted by Mycause online (via Zoom)
to run you through everything you need to know for
your shift (corporate groups can request their training session to be held any time in the days prior to the event)

• Once your shift starts, login to the Red Nose Telethon page and it will connect your profile so that your chosen phone will be able to make calls as part of the Red Nose Telethon!

• A script will appear on your computer screen for you
to read on calls to Red Nose Day supporters (you can change the script to suit your language style if you wish!)

• If a supporter would like to make a donation, you process it through the online portal and it tracks your totals - meaning you can have a competition between staff or even teams to see who can raise the most!

The Red Nose Day telethon will be a fun and engaging way
to make a difference for thousands of Australian families
that rely on Red Nose services. You will get a chance to
speak to Red Nose supporters and thank them for their
wonderful support.
