Larapinta Extreme Walk 2017 - Tegan treks the NT to support indigenous culture
Page
In just a few months I will be joining a group of incredible people venturing into the remote heart of central Australia to hike the magnificent Larapinta Trail!

Together we will walk across 223km of the Northern Territory's mountainous desert in 11 days to raise funds for the Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Woman's Council to hold their annual Law and Culture meeting. The NPYWC give empowerment to the woman in indigenous communities through traditional dance, sharing of knowledge, maintaining connections between indigenous communities across Australia and preservation of their land and culture. Much of the traditional practices, detailed knowledge of the fragile land and connections between indigenous communities would be lost without these annual meetings.

Our aim is to raise a minimum of $50 000 to cover the expense of NPYWC holding a meeting for 2017.

This is a phenomenal opportunity for myself to not only experience the raw desert earth and spectacular surrounds whilst challenging my mind and body but to offer something in return to the indigenous people that have preserved the land for generations and will be generously sharing their knowledge with us along the way.

All expenses for the trip are covered by myself so each donation made is going directly to NPYWC.
I'd love for you to help me give a little something back!
