AASS is establishing a new opportunity shop and café called “Somewhere Nice”, incorporating a job readiness program and a tafe course, all under one roof.

This initiative aims to create a supportive environment where individuals with disabilities can gain valuable work experience and skills while contributing to the local community.

The job readiness program is at the heart of this project. We are dedicated to providing meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities, empowering them to lead independent and fulfilling lives. Through comprehensive training and ongoing support, we will ensure that our participants gain valuable skills, build their self-confidence, and achieve personal growth. The program will focus on various aspects of retail and hospitality, equipping participants with skills that are in high demand in our community. Presently, individuals with a moderate intellectual disability are not accommodated to access tertiary education. In our partnership with TAFE, individuals will engage with TAFE while working and receive a certificate at the completion of the course.

However, we cannot achieve this vision alone. We kindly request your support in making this project a reality. Your donations will directly contribute to the setup costs, staff training, equipment, and ongoing operations of the opportunity shop, café, and job readiness program.
