Blind Kittens
$ 5.00

We were asked by a local council to take Tavia when she was only around 8 weeks old as she was blind. By the time she was around 10 weeks she required emergency surgery to remove one eye as it became 3 times enlarged and was causing bad pain. Tavia did well post surgery surgery. When Tavia was 4 months old, she had her other eye operated on and sewn up to ensure it was clean and would not be vulnerable to infections.

Blind cats mind map their area and do extremely well. They run around like any other cat happily living their lives. Tavia has been fostered with 2 other kittens and is doing extremely well. Her favourite thing is her humans but she enjoys playing with the kittens sometimes too.

Tavia will be the 21st blind feline we have rehomed. Blind cats usually cost us between one and two thousand dollars. Sadly there are too many stray blind cats because blindness occurs due to unltreated herpes virus (cat flu) but in Tavia's case the opthalmologist diagnosed early onset glaucoma. Your donations will help us rescue more blind cats. Whenever we hear of a blind kitten or cat, we do our best to try to rescue them.
