How you can help
Our mission:
Foodbank Victoria's mission is to provide food and other essential items to people in need and to advocate for a hunger-free Victoria.
Volunteers are integral to the day-to-day functions of our warehouse and ensure food relief is provided to families in need.
Tasks
- Packing food for distribution to our charity partners across Victoria
- Hamper packing
- Labelling
- Repacking
- Sorting of food donations
Additional information
- Free all-day parking is available onsite
- Physical Requirements: involves manual handling, including lifting, bending, twisting, repetitive movements, and extended periods of standing. Please assess your ability to perform these tasks safely. Volunteers unable to perform tasks safely may not participate
- Bring your own lunch; we provide a fridge, microwave, and tea/coffee facilities (no nearby cafes)
- Mandatory steel-capped boots are provided for safety, or please bring your own if you have them
- Bring long, thick socks to wear with the boots. You can also bring your steel-capped boots if preferred
- Wear suitable, comfortable clothing
- The warehouse temperature is similar to the outside; no air conditioning or heating is available
- Alternative activities may be available on the day for those who can't engage in physical tasks
Cost: $1,200 plus GST per group of 8-10 volunteers

Mondays- Fridays: 8:30 am - 2:30 pm
We're relocating our Yarraville Warehouse to a larger, safer, more modern facility at 44-449 Kororoit Creek Road, Altona. We're taking bookings at our Yarraville Warehouse up until Tuesday 18 November, and expect to welcome Corporate Volunteers into our new home at Altona from Monday 1 December - can't wait to welcome you there!
