Give training to women — Meet Lydia
$ 600.00
20 women die every day in childbirth in Tanzania where there are now 3.2 million orphans. Person by person, family by family, we can change that.
Forever Projects exists to give hope, dignity, and empowerment to Tanzanian women. Through a year-long journey, families are guided from poverty to create independence for themselves. The journey costs just $1200. This is what's possible—
Meet Lydia
Lydia is a super mum. She travelled two hours each way to weekly training days with her triplets on her back! There she received the life-saving nutrition they needed after she stopped producing milk and couldn't afford to feed them any other way. The triplets were among the most malnourished children our team has seen. Nine months later, the kids are gaining weight and are much healthier.
But Forever Projects isn't about handouts, this is a hand up.
Lydia received weekly business training and has started a hugely successful business selling charcoal. With the income she makes, she will go on to care for her family long into the future, long after we've left.
One afternoon after Lydia finished a training session, she was walking to the bus stop with her triplets. On the way, she saw another mother struggling with her twins. Despite having her hands full, she stopped to help. The empathy and comradery formed between these women on this journey is incredible.
You can give weekly training so women are empowered over a year to move their families from poverty.
