GIVIT is partnering with the Queensland Government to manage donations of money, goods, services and volunteers to help people recover from the floods affecting North and Far North Queensland.
People across Ingham, Cardwell, Cairns, Townsville, Burdekin, Palm Island and surrounding areas have been affected. Authorities are still working out how many homes have been flooded, but we already know the damage is widespread, communities are cut off, and recovery will be long and complex. GIVIT is already seeing requests for support come in, and you can see what’s needed on our website appeal page. With more flooding possible, urgent support is needed.
If you’d like to support people impacted, you can donate to our North and Far North Queensland Flood Appeal. 100% of your donation via workplace giving will go towards impacted communities and will be used to buy essential goods and services, including groceries, medication, furniture and more.
We’d like to remind you that unrequested donated goods can hinder relief efforts, as recovery organisations don’t have the resources to receive, sort, store or distribute these items. Please don’t send or take unsolicited donations into flood-impacted communities.
Thank you for choosing GIVIT to facilitate your donation as we support hundreds of local charities on the ground. We are the smart way to give.
