Help rescue the Reef
$ 25.00
Climate change is causing more frequent and severe extreme weather events, and last summer the Reef experienced multiple cyclones, flash flooding, and now a marine heatwave. The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority has officially declared a mass bleaching event on the Great Barrier Reef.
We’ve made significant progress in advancing methods to restore damaged reefs, but the reality is they remain one of the most vulnerable ecosystems on the planet. It is critical to accelerate our efforts to safeguard the Reef’s future.
Here’s how your support today can help rescue the Reef.
- Rapid response: Help fund immediate response actions, including ranger-led and technology-driven monitoring missions to understand and map the affected sites and assess damage.
- Restoration (Corals for today): Support programs such as coral fragment planting and our innovative Coral IVF program to help us restore areas of the Reef damaged by bleaching.
- Resilience (Corals for tomorrow): Help build long-term resilience into the Reef. Your donations will help accelerate the research and deployment of thermally tolerant corals. These corals are part of a toolkit of solutions that are ready to be deployed onto the Reef.
How you choose to respond today could determine the future of the Reef.
