In 2020 alone, the Mercy Health Breastmilk Bank fed 161 sick babies and premature babies.

In 2011, Mercy Health opened the Mercy Health Breastmilk Bank at Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg. In 2019, we opened satellite sites at Monash Children’s Hospital and the Royal Children’s Hospital. The Royal Women’s Hospital site opened in 2020.

Our next goal is to expand the Mercy Health Breastmilk Bank service across Victoria and to buy much-needed equipment such as freezers and pasteurising machines.
