Rural Aid Mental Health and Wellbeing

Rural Aid offers free, confidential counseling to Rural Aid registered farmers and their families. Rural Aid counsellors catch up with their farmers where they’re most comfortable; whether it’s on farm, in town, or over the phone. Rural Aid counsellors are professionally trained to support their clients through all kinds of life challenges and come with an understanding of the unique needs of rural people. They can support with practical strategies to help farmers refocus and get back on track.

On the ground with Rural Aid: Current Work

The Rural Aid team has been receiving daily updates on all flood-affected Local Government Areas across Queensland and New South Wales. Rural Aid has put an emergency response program in place with immediate financial assistance available to impacted farmers through pre-paid VISA cards. Our staff are responding to as many calls and emails as possible.

There are 22 disaster-declared LGAs (Local Government Areas) in Queensland with 37% of these zoned as agricultural.
