Feed the Soul
Feed the Soul invites corporate volunteer teams to step into the kitchen and nourish more than just stomachs. This is a hands-on opportunity where participants purchase ingredients, prepare, and serve a hot, nutritious meal—either lunch or dinner—for the guests at Sheltered by Grace.
Before the cooking starts, your team will receive a short trauma-informed engagement briefing from our staff, so you understand how to interact respectfully and appropriately with our residents. You’ll also have full access to our kitchen facilities, along with guidance from staff or volunteers who know their way around the space.
But this isn’t just about food—it’s about connection. Depending on the comfort level of our guests and the structure of the day, volunteers may have the opportunity to share the meal or engage in casual conversation. It’s a chance to bridge gaps, break down stereotypes, and humanise the crisis of homelessness—one plate at a time.
Plus: your team can personalise recipe cards for guests, branded with your company’s name. Because yes, your slow-cooked lamb and lentil stew can have its moment in the spotlight.
