Overview:
Youth Off The Streets (YOTS) is hosting its first Giving Day, a dynamic 24-hour fundraising event dedicated to supporting children and young people facing homelessness. This initiative aims to make a substantial impact through community generosity and matched donations.

Role Description:
As an Operations Room Volunteer, you will be an essential part of our Giving Day team at YOTS Head Office. You will engage directly with our community through phone outreach, sharing the critical mission of YOTS and encouraging support for our fundraising efforts. Volunteers will utilize provided call scripts and materials to convey the significance of contributions.

To Do:

• Make outbound calls to donors and supporters using provided scripts.


• Communicate effectively the mission and impact of YOTS.


• Record donation pledges and provide necessary follow-up information.


• Maintain enthusiasm and motivation throughout the event.


• Assist in other operational tasks as needed.

Requirements:

• Strong communication skills and comfortable speaking over the phone.


• Enthusiasm for YOTS mission and objectives.


• Ability to commit to at least one shift on Thursday, 8 August.


• Willingness to attend a one-hour training and induction session before your shift.

Shift Times:
Volunteers are needed across six different shift times. Corporate groups are encouraged to distribute support across shifts rather than occupying entire shifts.

Transportation:

• Trains: Green Square station (12 min walk), St Peter’s station (26 min walk), Erskineville station (19 min walk).


• Buses: Local buses 305, 355 & 370.


• Parking: Paid parking is available at Secure Parking - 28 Bourke Road, Alexandria.
